INTERNATIONAL CONTRACTS AND ARBITRATION
General overview of the CISG Principles (United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods) and International Arbitration as two main tools in international Business Law.
- The foundations of transactional Business Law, including its main areas of application
- The process of Business Law harmonisation
- The United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods (CISG)
- Characteristics of International Arbitration and differences with the judicial system.
- The value of legal language proficiency for international legal practitioners
- The Vis Moot experience: a hands-on learning experience in an international environment.
SPEAKERS:
- María Elena Barbero – ARGENTINA- (Professor at UNR/UCA. Private International Law. Negotiation, Mediation and Arbitration. Coach and Arbitrator in the Vis Moot).
- Leonor Agüera Jaquemet –SPAIN & FRANCE – Dual Qualified Lawyer (UK and Spain). Founder of In Arbitration Hub and Moving Arbitration Up. Arbitrator, Coach and Mentor. Arbitrator and Coach in the Vis Moot).
Both lecturers met at Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot in Vienna in 2018, and it is their will to share their experience and encourage students to participate in this life-changing experience.
